The Helgeland Coast is rightfully called the World`s most beautiful skerries.

The RV 17 highway, the coastal road, is winding through this part of the country. Across bridges, on ferries, through deep valleys  and along the crest of majestic mountains. The Helgeland Coast offers spectacular nature experiences with mountains and peaks, wide ocean and sheltered bays, beaches, vast untouched lands, and a very rich plant and animal life. Here you can find countless small islands, and some big ones, like pearls along a beautiful and exciting coast.

We can find some of the best known mountain formations along the Helgeland coast fairway. This fairy tale land of islets, skerries and mountains is one of the most distinctive vacation places along the Norwegian coast.

The island kingdom can tempt you with more than 12.000 islets and skerries with chalk white sand beaches. Below the mountain formation The Seven Sisters you will find Sandnessjøen, the heart of the Helgeland Coast. Sandnessjøen is the obvious starting point for travelling to the sorrounding communities and islands.

Salten

Salten is located centrally in Nordland and is together with Bodø an important junction both for Nordland and Northern Norway. Because of this important public services have been located to Salten, like higher education, a central hospital, public services offered by the county and the state and other services. Bodø is Nordland´s most important communication centre and is together with Fauske a junction in the national transport lines both by boat, railways, road , and air traffic. Salten has a clean and diverse nature, huge power resources, mineral resources, a varied economic life and a rich cultural life.
